Departmental Development Project of Neuroscience
The research programme falls within the neuroscience of eating disorders and continues the Department’s line of research on the neurobiological and psychopathological correlates of anorexia nervosa and related disorders. The aim is to characterise, in a clinical cohort and in a control group, the association between structural and functional neuroimaging indices, neuropsychological measures and clinical and nutritional variables, with particular attention to body representation processes and their change over the course of treatment. Activities include participant recruitment, administration of standardised clinical and neuropsychological protocols, data management and analysis, and dissemination of results. The programme contributes to the objectives of the 2023-2027 departmental development project.
