Models and algorithms for geophysical retrieval based on URANUS data - 2026_IDR_DEIB_67
The research activity concerns the development of physics-based models and data processing algorithms for the characterization and mitigation of atmospheric propagation effects in the retrieval of temporal geometric deformations undergone by targets observed by Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems. The activity is carried out within the URANUS project, which aims to develop a fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for multistatic SAR acquisitions. The study will focus on modeling atmospheric propagation effects and the temporal evolution of observed targets, developing methodologies capable of separating these two contributions. The resulting models will be integrated into a system simulator for the generation of synthetic data, while the developed compensation techniques will form a preliminary prototype of the operational processing chain. The activity will also include the planning of multistatic SAR experimental campaigns and the analysis of the acquired data.
