Moral Implications of Collective Code-of-Silence Behaviors in Organizational Contexts
The activities planned for the research program include the design and implementation of a series of experimental studies on the (explicit and/or implicit) measurement of code of silence / omertà behaviors in organizational settings, understood as individual and/or collective actions. Specifically, the research program will consider the development of paradigms for studying cases of code of silence / omertà in organizational contexts, with particular implications for moral aspects. The paradigms may include tasks to be conducted in laboratory, real, and/or virtual environments, as well as the measurement of explicit and/or implicit behaviors. Since the measurement of code of silence / omertà behaviors often involves deceptive procedures, the planned research activities also include managing the ethical aspects of research, as well as managing, organizing, analyzing, and ensuring the reproducibility of results. The candidate will provide support for operational laboratory activities.
