Grammar and Vocabulary, Grammar Books and Dictionaries. Grammatical Concepts in Lexicographical Resources Published Between the 16th and 17th Centuries

This project aims to investigate, from a diachronic perspective the relationships between Italian lexicography and grammatography at a decisive moment in the history of both disciplines and for the broader debate on language. Building on the results of the GeoStoGrammIt project - which cataloged and made accessible a large corpus of grammars and other materials for learning and studying Italian - the primary objective of this project is to relate grammars and grammatical studies on the one hand, and dictionaries and lexicography on the other, fostering a dialogue (including through digital interfaces) between tools that are historically interdependent but whose study has traditionally been conducted in separate spheres
