Definition of flow reactors for ammonia production.

The project will involve the design and construction of reactors that can operate in continuous or cyclic flow to test the photocatalyzed production of ammonia from nitrogen and air. For a comprehensive design and definition of reactivity, the project will also involve the study and preparation of heterogeneous catalysts to be used in the constructed reactors, and the study of photocatalyzed processes for the fixation and insertion of nitrogen, phosphorus, or boron atoms involving suitable and interesting molecules, such as thianthrenium salts.
