Postdoctoral position within the ERC project SABIR (Sailing Beyond the Crisis: Comparative Perspectives on Social, Economic, and Cultural Changes in the Late Medieval Mediterranean) – Prof. Musarra (SARAS, Sapienza).

The role entails the design, development, and management of the digital infrastructure for the ERC AG SABIR project, focusing specifically on the web platform, the Database of Latin Seafarers (1250–1450), and the GIS component. The successful candidate—possessing a background in post-classical history/archaeology and expertise in Digital Humanities—will work according to the Principal Investigator’s specifications, translating research requirements into interoperable, sustainable data models and digital services. Activities include: development and maintenance of the web platform and database; definition of conceptual models, ontologies, controlled vocabularies, and authority control; data acquisition, normalization, and validation; development of GIS/WebGIS and analysis/visualization tools; application of FAIR principles, Linked Open Data, and metadata standards; and providing methodological support to the research team.
