IpD48/2026: Extracellular Vesicles from Engineered Microalgae for the Sustainable Delivery of Ketocarotenoids and Tocopherol in Advanced Cosmetic Applications
The researcher will carry out experimental activities within the ALGAVES project, aimed at developing extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from engineered microalgae as delivery systems for ketocarotenoids and tocopherol. Activities will include EV isolation and purification and their characterization by NTA, TEM, DLS and Western blot. The researcher will contribute to bioactive compound quantification by HPLC and to EV uptake studies in HaCaT keratinocytes by confocal microscopy. Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects will be assessed through ROS and redox status. The researcher will also be involved in EV stability studies in liquid phase, after lyophilization and in preliminary dermocosmetic formulations, as well as in data analysis and scientific reporting.
