Development and optimization of innovative biorefinery processes for the valorization of animal- and plant-derived by-products through circular biorefinery strategies. Research activities include the design and optimization of fermentation processes, the selection and characterization of microorganisms with biotechnological potential, the production and characterization of functional ingredients, bioactive peptides, and bio-based materials, as well as the evaluation of process scalability and technology transfer towards industrial applications within the framework of the circular economy and environmental sustainability.
